Now experience MetaPujo in 2022
This year Durga Puja has entered the world of Metaverse. Yes, you heard that right. Now you can enjoy pandal hopping from anywhere around the world. This year Metaform and XP&DLand along with Puja committees of Ahiritola Sarbojanin, Deshapriya Park, Ballygunge Cultural and Tala Prattay have arranged a metaverse platform for Durga Puja and named it MetaPujo which will be accessible through 3D twins on the Metaverse.
“The worlds of digital and real life are colliding, where we will constantly toggle between the real and metaverse worlds in the future. This is the first time in history that such a massive festival of devotion has been twinned in the Metaverse. We are piloting it with four pandals this year, with over 100 next year, and in the near future, every single pandal on the ground will have a metaverse twin for people to experience and enjoy,” said Sukrit Singh, co-founder of Metaform & XP&DLand.
MetaPujo NFT Collection
As a memento of their darshan on Metaverse, devotees can gather NFTs of the god from the different pandals. This year’s Durga Puja is unique and the combination of real life and virtual reality is experimental and fun too.
With the use of 3D recreations of the pandals, users of the metaverse platform "Spatial" will be able to enter a shared social space where individuals from all over the world may congregate and walk around, interact, and even snap pictures. In a matter of minutes, users can create a meta-realistic avatar of themselves. All users can access the platform via basic smart phones, tablets, and wearables.
Suppose you stay in Guwahati and your friends stay in Bangalore and Canada, you all can enjoy the MetapPujo together. Metaverse is making the impossible into reality and having your close ones near during festive season through Metaverse is just a gift from technology.
“This initiative gives Maa Durga an enhanced address on Web 3.0 where the devotees from across the world will be able to enter a three-dimensional recreation of the pandals and take part in darshans from the most popular pandals of Kolkata,”Sukrit Singh notes.
